Right of First Refusal is more than an economic strategy
Deeply inspired by the historic legacy of Greenwood
The Right of First Refusal (RoFR) initiative is emerging as a bold and visionary strategy designed to guarantee that the African diaspora and Black-owned enterprises receive the first opportunity to participate in African contracts, investments, and economic partnerships that directly shape their communities. Rather than allowing external entities to continuously dictate the terms of development, RoFR seeks to reclaim agency over resources, ensuring that wealth and opportunity circulate within the global Black community before being offered elsewhere.
To solidify this vision, the initiative is being structured as a committee under the African Diaspora Development Institute (ADDI), creating a powerful framework that unites leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and advocates across the diaspora. This collective approach allows for a strategic pooling of knowledge, capital, and influence, while advancing policies that safeguard community interests on both local and international levels.
Deeply inspired by the historic legacy of Greenwood—known as Black Wall Street—and aligned with the mission of Black Wall Street USA to establish sustainable economic districts around the world, RoFR positions itself as a transformative force for equity and prosperity. Its purpose is not only to protect the interests of Black-owned businesses but also to foster the conditions necessary for intergenerational wealth creation. By prioritizing African and diaspora participation in vital economic arenas, the initiative transforms opportunities that were once withheld or exploited by outside powers into engines of prosperity designed to uplift communities worldwide.
In this way, the Right of First Refusal is more than an economic strategy; it is a movement rooted in history and propelled by vision. It embodies the determination of a global people to reclaim control over their economic destinies, strengthen the bonds of the diaspora, and ensure that future generations inherit both the resources and the power to define their own prosperity.
