A Call for Unity, Strength, and Action

In the ever-unfolding journey of African Americans, we find ourselves at yet another crossroads. The call is loud, the stakes are high, and the time is now. "Winner takes ALL" is not just a phrase—it is a mandate for survival, for upliftment, and for collective strength. The quest for HELP leaves no one out; all souls must be on board. This is our defining moment.

The dire straits we face in 2025 are but another chapter in our historical struggle—a struggle our ancestors braved with relentless determination. The unimaginable circumstances that surround us today serve as a wake-up call that has loomed over us for far too long. Many of us have grown comfortable, believing that we have paid our dues, achieved our dreams, and secured our family's future. But as history has proven time and again, complacency is a dangerous illusion.

The COVID-19 pandemic of 2019 tested our resilience in ways we never anticipated. It left us reeling, but we survived. We emerged scathed, yet not defeated. We carried away the tools to move forward, strengthened by the losses and victories that shaped us. Many suffered more than others, yet through the fire, we found renewed strength. This ability to endure, to rise again, and to reclaim our power is intrinsic to our people. It is the legacy of our ancestors, and it must be the promise we uphold for generations to come.

The Road Ahead: A New Battle

As we stand in the year 2025, we are once again confronted with a battle—one that demands urgency, strategy, and unrelenting faith. Those who were not awake must now rise. The time to prepare is over; the time to act is upon us. The arrival of Black History Month could not be more timely, for it serves as both a reminder and a rallying cry. It compels us to reflect on the sacrifices of our ancestors, those who forged ahead without the luxury of retreat. They plowed through adversity with unwavering resolve. Now, we must do the same.

We have emphasized time and again that the Black Church must reclaim its rightful place at the forefront of our collective movement. For centuries, the Church was our anchor, our haven, and our launching pad for change. It is imperative that it rises again—not as an isolated entity, but as a unified force working alongside other institutions. Historically, fraternal organizations, sororities, and fraternities played critical roles in uplifting our people. They must be summoned once more. There is no room for division or hesitation. The call is clear: All hands on deck. Every organization, every brotherhood, every sisterhood must strategize against the imminent storm.

The Biblical Mandate: Strength in Unity

The Bible speaks extensively about the power of unity and the necessity of collective action in times of tribulation. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us:

"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up."

Our strength is found in our togetherness. Just as the Israelites faced trials in the wilderness yet triumphed through faith and unity, so too must we rely on one another to weather this storm.

Ephesians 6:11-12 further calls us to be prepared:

"Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."

The battle before us is not only physical but spiritual. It requires that we armor ourselves—not just with faith, but with knowledge, strategy, and action. We cannot afford to question or challenge our beliefs at this hour; we must be fortified in our convictions. We must don our life jackets, ensuring that every soul reaches safe ground.

Steadfastness and Strength: The Path Forward

The road ahead is not easy, but we are not a people who shrink in the face of adversity. James 1:12 tells us:

"Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him."

This is our moment to stand strong. When we feel weak, we must remember Philippians 4:13:

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Every obstacle we face is an opportunity to prove our resilience, our faith, and our commitment to a better future.

A Blueprint for Survival

So what must be done?

Revitalize the Black Church and Community Organizations

Our churches, sororities, fraternities, and grassroots organizations must realign with their foundational mission: to serve, uplift, and protect our people. Leadership must emerge with bold vision and decisive action.

Economic Empowerment

We must invest in Black-owned businesses, practice financial literacy, and establish economic self-sufficiency within our communities. Proverbs 13:22 states, "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children." We must build generational wealth and sustainability.

Political Engagement and Policy Reform

Voter education, advocacy, and legislative involvement are crucial. We must demand policies that protect our rights and interests. "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute." (Proverbs 31:8)

Mental and Physical Health Awareness

The trauma of systemic oppression has left deep scars. It is time to prioritize mental health, wellness, and healing. Community-driven health initiatives must be supported and expanded.

Education and Youth Development

The next generation must be equipped with knowledge, leadership skills, and cultural pride. Hosea 4:6 warns, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." We must ensure our children receive the education they need to rise.

A Clarion Call to Action

We can no longer afford to be lulled into complacency. The fight is urgent. The mission is clear. We must not only save ourselves but create a blueprint for survival that will outlive us. This is our moment to rise from the trenches—not just with strength, but with inspiration, joy, and an unshakable determination that we will NEVER be caught off guard again.

The words of Galatians 6:9 must serve as our guiding force:

"Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

So we ask—won't you reach out to your village, to your brothers and sisters, to your allies? Stand side by side, armed with wisdom, perseverance, and faith. This is not just about today. This is about securing a future where our people not only survive but thrive.

Stay awake. Stay vigilant. Stay united.

Winner takes ALL. Now and forever.
