Commerce will host it's Annual Christmas Luncheon
Oakland-The Oakland Black Board of Trade and Commerce will host it's Annual Christmas Luncheon
on Thursday December 15, 2005 from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm at Geffory's Inner Circle, 410 14th Street in downtown Oakland.
The guest speaker is the Honorable Don Perata, Speaker Pro Tem of the California State Senate.
Senator Perata will discuss the results of the special elections, issues concerning housing and
transportation and other legislative matters before the Senate.

Senator Perata as a member of the big 5, played a major role in defeating the Governor's inititatives to
place restrictions on union dues, require teachers to wait longer to gain tenure, assign redistricting
boundries to retired judges, all were voted down in the special election.
Oakland Black Board of Trade and Commerce
The Oakland Black Board of Trade and Commerce is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing
small minority owned businesses with timely and up-to-date information concerning contracting
opportunities, financial assistance education, and conducts workshops and seminars and special
events designed to assist members grow their businesses.
The organization has provided over 1800 hours of technical assistance to members in 2006. In
addition, the organization has helped members secure over 7 million in construction and
professional service contracts.
Luncheon tickets are $75 per individual and $750 for a table for ten. For additional information and
